A 14.5 mm Sub-Calibre device is an effective training weapon for the crew of T-72 tank for 125 mm gun, in range practice against standard targets, using 14.5 mm armour piercing incendiary tracer bullet with steel case.It is manufactured at Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli. A single round electrically fired weapon with auto-reload capability.

It is a powerful Tank Machine gun automatic weapon mounted on the armoured vehicles,War Boats,movable and Stationary mounts.It is intended for fight against light-armoured targets, fire weapons and alive force located in light shelters at the distances of up to 2000 m, as well as air targets at the distances of up to 2000 m at the heights of up to 1500 m.KPV 14.5 mm Heavy Machine Gun,OFB,Indian Armed Forces

Cartridges with armour-piercing-incendiary bullet B-32, armor-piercing-tracer bullet BZT and incendiary bullet of instant action MDZ are used for firing at surface and air targets.Feed of cartridges (right-hand or left-hand) is performed from the metallic belt.
