Indian Air Force Modifying Chopers & Aircrafts to Pick Up Air Crash Victims in Just 1 Hour
The Indian Air Force now upgrading its facilities and making provisions for helicopters and aircrafts to ensure that air crash victims can be picked up within one hour of the mishap.
According to the Chief marshal C harikumar Eastern Air Command,The IAF making provisions in terms of practices ,procedures and trainings to ensure that henceforth,if something goes down,The chopers & Aircrafts will be able to pick it up within an hour .
He also said , if we are not capable of doing so then we are not doing the job properly.
No Doubt it is very Difficult in the terrain with lot of vegetation to pick up any helicopter or something that goes down but Chief Air Marshal C Harikumar ensures that in short span of time we will definetely picked up the victimes even from the diverse terrains as soon as possible.
There are Pilot Rescue Vehicles (PRV) in the cockpits which can be activated by the pilot and an automated emergency location transmitter is there which is activated on Impact. When ever the helicopter or aircraft hits the ground, the information would be transmitted through satellite and the responding agency would react accordingly.
In IAF Some Helicopters and Aircrafts are already come in with Pre-fixed PRVs ,while some as add-ons.Those that have been added with these PRVs subsequently, have not been performing very well. But slowly the problem is investigated.
They are modifying The Chopers and Aircrafts by integrating better electro optical,infra-Red Cameras to see the mishap over hills and better On Board System so that it could react and gave the information immediately and Accurately.
According to the Mr Harikumar, The latest measures and provisions will ensure that the emergency location transmitters fitted on helicopter and aircraft are of improved functionality.
